Vegan Chocolate Tart

Socialising as a vegan doesn't have to be hard if you go prepared! Today I went for lunch with my friends and them being non-vegans, I thought it would be good to take a dessert!
So I decided to branch out and make a vegan chocolate tart! It's rich, creamy and super decadent, but so easy to make! And my friends were impressed!

Vegan chocolate tart
Ingredients
Base
2 cups oats ground into flour
1/3 cup almond flour
2 tbsp cocoa powder
3 tbsp maple syrup
1/3 cup melted coconut oil
1 tsp vanilla
Filling
1 can coconut milk
2 tbsp maple syrup
250g vegan dark chocolate (I used a block of Dark Ghana from whittakers)
Method:
1) To make the base, mix all the ingredients together till you get a crumbly consistency. Press into a round cake tin, and bake at 180 degrees for 10-15 minutes. Remove and cool for 20-30 minutes.
2) To make the filling, chop the dark chocolate and place in a large bowl. Then pour the coconut milk into a saucepan and heat until its boiling. Remove the coconut milk from the heat and pour over the chocolate. Leave for 5 minutes.
3) Fold the coconut and chocolate mixture until fully combined, and add the maple syrup, mixing well. Pour over the base and place in the fridge for 2-3 hours or until firm.
4) Top with dried coconut, nuts and dried berries.
Note- the tart should be stored in an airtight container to keep it fresh!

Rare photo of me, and the totally delicious tart!

That's it! Super simple and so so yum! This tart can be made gluten free and refined sugar free too!
This recipe is so perfect for the holiday season, and would make a great addition to your Christmas feast! Share with family and friends, and I'm sure they'll love it!
